This medical surgeon's bedside manner has been called gruff and grumpy, but when you're a laid back southern doctor exploring strange new worlds, and meeting exotic races, can he be blamed? Leonard H. McCoy, the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Enterprise, is one of the most accomplished surgeons in the galaxy. Adopting the nickname 'Bones' from his captain, McCoy would go on to promote good 'old-fashioned' medicine far into the 23rd Century. One of the few things that raised the ire of this gentle doctor, was the tireless logic of his Vulcan science officer, Spock. McCoy would suffer many encounters with what he he considered 'cold logic' over his more emotional reactions. That being said, Spock was one of his dearest friends, and along with Captain James Kirk, the three friends would share many good times, and a few glasses of saurian brandy over their days.
Bones was released in 2002 as part of the first wave of figures in Art Asylum’s Star Trek: The Original Series line.
