During the mission to Romulus, the Romulan homeworld, Dr Beverly Crusher is busy examining a prototype version of Commander Data, which they have named B-4. They are traveling to talk to the new Praetor, Shinzon, about a peace accord. It is Crusher that determines that Shinzon is actually a clone of Captain Picard, and was planning on infiltrating Starfleet. She also discovers that his rapid age acceleration from the cloning process, is also killing him. Data ends up sacrificing himself, but not before he could download his neural network in the B-4 prototype before destroying Shinzon and his ship. Crusher toasts lost friends with Picard before setting off to join her new career at Starfleet Medical.
