Comments: Deep beneath Thunderbolts Mountain, the monstrous Venom is changed into a virtual copy of the hero Spider-Man by the evil genius of Norman Osborn. Elsewhere, the rage-filled son of Wolverine is recruited to replace his father. Both men become members of Osborn's Dark Avengers, a group of criminals masquerading as the heroes whose names they've stolen.

Dark Spider-Man uses the larger buck first used on Bulldozer from Bulldozer & The Thing Secret Wars Comic Pack #12, with a new head and hands. The character is actually Venom (Mac Gargan) from the Thunderbolts.
Dark Avengers #1 is shown on the packaging, as this was intended to be the comic included. Instead, a partial reprint of Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus #1 was included.
