Does the mask of the Scarlet Spider hide a hero or a sinister imposter?
Hasbro’s second assortment of 2013 Marvel Legends action figures was initially revealed during the 2013 International Toy Fair in New York City and in its entirety, consists of Marvel’s Wrecking Crew Wrecker, Marvel Knights Punisher, Scarlet Spider, Jean Grey, Modern Hawkeye, and Black Panther. Each action figure within this assortment contains a build-a-figure piece to build your very own Rocket Raccoon. This series began shipping in August 2013.
The first of the series of clones created by the Jackal, the Scarlet Spider is a Peter Parker/Spider-Man clone intended to eliminate the original Spider-Man. Surviving his battle with Spider-Man, the Scarlet Spider assumes the alter ego Ben Reilly and remains dormant for a few years before re-emerging. Like Spider-Man, the Scarlet Spider possesses drastically enhanced strength, speed and reflexes, is capable of clinging to virtually any surface, and possesses a precognitive spider-sense which warns him of immediate danger. Hasbro’s Scarlet Spider comes clad in his black and red body suit and the sculpt is essentially the same as past sculpts, like the previously released ‘Future Foundation’ and ‘Big Time’ Spider-Man. The Scarlet Spider action figure does not come packed with any accessories and does not include and pieces to build the Rocket raccoon build-a-figure.
