Arcade1Up: CES 2019 Reveals

Posted by: Nick on January 10, 2019 at 10:18 AM CST

First off the full list of the cabinets was revealed. The details not released in the announcement earlier this week included: that Space Invaders includes Space Invaders and Space Invaders Deluxe (color) and that Karate Champ includes Bad Dudes, Caveman Ninja, and Burger Time! Also Golden Tee appears to have a light-up marquee.

Other details we gleamed from announcements and observations. The deck protectors appear to come standard on the new units. Golden Tee's target release date is June. Expect Space Invaders and Final Fight cabinets to arrive in February/March time frame. Stools should be available soon as well, no specific date mentioned but they appear to be themed to the cabinets. There appear to be risers with graphics on them. No indication if this is a custom job or a new product offering.

There were also new products introduced including merchandise, Counter Cades, and Wall Cades. The merchandise includes light-up marquees for wall mounting, Pac Man mini and regular plushes (including sound), Galaga plush, cabinet style plush, tin signs and marquee replicas. Also more lights like the Pac Man ones from Wal Mart including: more Pac Man ghosts, Galaga series, Space Invaders, and more. Plenty of stuff to deck out your home arcades.

The Counter Cades are smaller versions of the cabinets that....well they fit on a counter. Titles include Space Invaders (and color version), Galaga (and Galaxian), Centipede (and Missile Command), Pac Man (and Pac Man Plus), Dig Dug (and Dig Dug 2), and Ghosts 'N Goblins.

The Wall Cades can be mounted on a wall, the back of a door, or in a closet. Think of them as space savers. No cabinet but the screen, marquee, and control deck are present. Almost like you cut out the parts you needed to play. Titles include Galaga, Centipede, Space Invaders, Defender, and Pac Man.

One last surprise, there are cocktail cabinets and in particular a 12-in-1 cocktail fight cabinet. No idea on what is included other tan Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat cabinet games at this point. The titles were blacked out. Hopefully we'll get a closer look at Toy Fair next month.
