It's official, these highly marketable yellow sidekicks are due to get the LEGO treatment in 2020 as part of the Minions: The Rise of Gru sequel which is due in cinemas on July 3rd, 2020. The combined Despicable Me/Minions franchise has generated $3 billion at the box office alone, with the license for these construction toys in the hands of MegaBlocks and MegaConstrux.
LEGO announced the license in June with a teaser video on their Facebook page.
