WonderCon 2017: The Pop Culture Shock Booth

Posted by: Vincent on April 2, 2017 at 11:56 PM CST

The absence of Sideshow Collectibles at WonderCon this year left a void that was promptly filled by Pop Culture Shock Toys, which continues to use WonderCon as their main convention showing each year, as evidenced by the increasing number of featured display items at their booth annually. The debut of the sold-out Goro maquette of Mortal Kombat fame represents the pinnacle of what the company has produced for its iconic licenses--it is a mixed-media 1:3 replica of the infamous game boss that quickly renders all other maquettes pale in comparison, though the Mileena statue from the same franchise was not to be overlooked. Other noteworthy characters include Zangief, M. Bison, and Ken Masters from the Street Fighter video game series, and a new Rambo statue that bears an uncanny resemblance to Sylvester Stallone in both portrait and physique.
