Character Bio: By Jay Shepard
"Space...the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before."
James Tiberius Kirk. Captain. Fighter. Lover. Born in Iowa, he became the youngest Captain in Starfleet to take command of a Constitution-class starship, the Enterprise. Thus he began a famous five-year mission, exploring the various corners of the galaxy, and getting into a good deal of trouble as well. His dealings with various alien cultures paved the way for the expansion of the Federation. Whether it was negotiating a peace treaty with the Klingons, stealing a Romulan cloaking device, or choosing to fight for the lives of his crew, many looked on him as a hothead and an agitator. While his maneuvers were hardly ever "by the book," his creative solutions and aggressive behavior got him out of as many situations as it got him into. As such, James Kirk is arguably one of the finest Captains to ever command a Starship.
The Captain James T. Kirk was released in the first wave of figures in Art Asylum's Star Trek: The Original Series collection in 2002. |
