The first teaser image for Hot Toys' Captain America: The First Avenger 1/6 scale figure was published on Cool Toy Review on June 17th, 2011. A full press release including an extensive image gallery came out five days later. The figure went up for pre-order on June 23, 2011 and it began shipping in November, 2011.
