Comments:Even though we saw a toy line released by Trendmasters when it hit theatres in 1996, it wasn’t until the first quarter of 2010 with Hot Toys’ 1/6 scale Movie Masterpiece Series that Tim Burton’s cult classic feature film Mars Attacks! was fully realized as an action figure collection. Unlike the figures that were released fourteen years earlier, Hot Toys put a very strong focus on producing film-accurate figures, and it shows in the little details. Instead of simply reusing the same pieces, Hot Toys produced different torsos, legs, and helmets to distinguish between the first two figures in the line.
The first two figures released in the 1/6 scale collection, the Martian Soldier and the Martian Ambassador, feature over 13 points of hidden articulation, including arm and leg joints disguised by soft rubber coverings, swiveling eyes, a hinged jaw, and a ball jointed tongue. In addition, both figures come with uniquely designed ray guns and breathing helmets. In addition, the Ambassador also includes a red glittery robe with armature wired collar. |
