The Cyclops figure was part of the initial wave of toys based on the first X-Men feature film and featured a removable visor, removable glasses, light up eyes, and a slime-incased Jean Grey accessory figure. While the Cyclops figure has no significant variations, the Jean Grey accessory does feature two unique paint jobs. The original run of the figure was painted to reveal a bare chest. This was very quickly changed, and subsequent shipments saw an alteration to the spray op that created what appeared to be a black bustier covering roughly half of the otherwise exposed chest. Due to packaging design, this variation is hard to spot on carded figures.
Produced to be available during the theatrical release of the feature film, the X-Men: the Movie action figure collection by Toy Biz dominated the toy shelves in 2000.
