Hobbit News: Del Toro Confirmed
It has just been confirmed that Guillermo del Toro, the visionary filmmaker behind The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth, Blade 2, and both Hellboy films, will be the director of both feature films based on The Hobbit. Peter Jackson, the director of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, is still attached to the project as executive producer. THe films are planned to come out in 2011 and 2012. In the interest of creating an equal split of American and Canadian players, McFarlane Toys has altered the line up for the seventh wave of NHL Legends Sports Picks figures. THe wave will now include Montreal Canadien Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Detroit Red Wing Gordie Howe, Chicago Blackhawk Stan Mikita, New York Ranger/ Edmonton Oiler Mark Messier, and Toronto Maple Leaf/ Calgary Flame Doug Gilmour. McFarlane Toys has announced the first wave of their 2008 NFL Players Ultra Figures line up. Sports fans can expect to find the Colt's Joseph Abbai, the Raiders' JaMarcus Russell, the Steelers' Willie Parker along with the second versions of both the Cowboys' Tony Romo and the Saints' Reggie Bush.
